Civilian Conservation Corps Employment Opportunities

Under the mandate of the Cabinet of Trinidad and Tobago, the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) is staffed by active and retired members of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force. And we're always on the lookout for more Defence Force personnel!

Regional Manager

Successful candidates will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the regions, for coordinating staff activities, maintaining high standards of discipline and ensuring efficient use of resources, updating the Operations Officer on training, discipline, job placement and community projects. Minimum Education/Experience Required:

  • Certificate at level 3 in accordance with the Trinidad and Tobago National Vocational Qualifications Framework.
  • At least 5 years experience at a supervisory level in a training environment or record of proven success in a similar appointment.

Core Competencies:

  • Leadership - Proven ability in motivating, coaching and mentoring staff and especially, young trainees.
  • Communications - Excellent oral and written skills, as well as the ability to prepare reports in a clear and concise manner.
  • Interpersonal Skills - Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with staff members and trainees, and interact with divisional heads of Government Departments, NGO’s and other organisations within his/her region.

Regional Coordinator

Successful candidates will be responsible for coordinating and delivering all training in a professional manner that is conducive to learning and development, fostering a sense of team spirit and camaraderie amongst trainees whilst maintaining a high level of discipline. Minimum Education/Experience Required:

  • Certificate at level 3 in accordance with the Trinidad and Tobago National Vocational Qualifications Framework.
  • At least 5 years experience at a supervisory level in a training environment or proven success record in a similar appointment.

Core Competencies:

  • Leadership - Proven ability in motivating young adults, and particularly in promoting and maintaining the desire to learn.
  • Communications - Excellent oral and written skills, as well as the ability to impart information and give lectures in a manner that is easy to learn.
  • Interpersonal Skills - Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with staff members and trainees, and interact with divisional heads of Government Departments, NGO’s and other organisations for the purpose of acquiring on-the-job training, job placement, and community projects for the programme.

Regional Administrative Officer

Minimum Education/Experience Required:

  • Certificate at level 3 in accordance with the Trinidad and Tobago National Vocational Qualifications Framework.
  • At least 5 years experience at a supervisory level in an administrative environment or record of proven success in a similar appointment.

Core Competencies:

  • Leadership - High level of discipline with the ability to motivate others in a dynamic environment.
  • Communications - Excellent oral and written skills, as well as the ability to prepare reports in a clear and concise manner.
  • Interpersonal Skills - Must be an excellent team player with the ability to interact and maintain strong relationships with members of staff.

Detachment Commander

Successful candidates are responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management functions of the Detachment, as well as coordinating its activities. They must also provide the Team Commanders and Assistant Team Commanders with clear directions as to the intended outcome of training and projects undertaken, and maintain a disciplined work environment. Minimum Education/Experience Required:

  • Certificate at level 2 in accordance with the Trinidad and Tobago National Vocational Qualifications Framework.
  • At least 5 years experience at an equivalent supervisory level in a similar work environment or record of proven success in a similar appointment.

Core Competencies:

  • Leadership - Proven ability in motivating subordinates and young adults, and acting as a role model.
  • Communications - Excellent oral and written skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills - Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with superios, peers, subordinates, trainers and trainees, and interact with divisional heads of Government Departments, NGO’s and other organisations for the purpose of on-the-job training, job placement, and community projects.

Team Commander

Minimim Education/Experience Required:

  • Certificate at level 2 in accordance with the Trinidad and Tobago National Vocational Qualifications Framework.
  • At least 5 years experience at equivalent supervisory level in a disciplined work environment or record of proven success in a similar appointment.

Core Competencies:

  • Leadership - Ability to act as a role model, motivate and inspire young adults to achieve their goals.
  • Communications - Must be able to speak and write effectively.
  • Interpersonal Skills - Must be people oriented.
  • Physical Fitness - Should be physically fit in order to meet the rigours and demands of the programme.




Driver

  • Leadership - High level of discipline with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Interpersonal Skills - Must have a pleasant personality and be people oriented.

Regional Logistics Officer

Successful candidates will be responsible for providing the Regional Manager with all aspects of logistics in support of the region's function, and for providing support in terms of the management of the region's stores, facilities and transportation equipment. Minimum Education/Experience Required:

  • Certificate at level 3 in accordance with the Trinidad and Tobago National Vocational Qualifications Framework.
  • At least 5 years experience at a supervisory level in a logistics environment or record of proven success in a similar appointment.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Government Procurement Procedures.

Core Competencies:

  • Leadership - High level of discipline with a strong conviction for accountability and a strong capacity for problem solving.
  • Communications - Excellent oral and written skills, as well as the ability to prepare reports in a clear and concise manner.
  • Interpersonal Skills - Must be an excellent team player with the ability to interact, instruct and impart knowledge to young adults.
